By creating an account or using Car Companion (“the app”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Not a substitute for a qualified mechanic

Important safety notice. Car Companion — including the AI Assistant, warning-light scanner, and emergency guides — is designed to help you understand your car in plain English. It is not a diagnostic tool and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified mechanic. For anything safety-critical (brakes, steering, airbags, engine warning lights, unusual noises), always have your car inspected by a professional. You are responsible for decisions you make about your vehicle.

Your account

• You must be old enough to hold a driver's licence in your country to create an account.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Don't share your account with people who aren't authorised to see your data.

Acceptable use

Please don't misuse the app: no attempts to break, probe, or reverse-engineer the service; no abusive prompts to the AI Assistant; no uploading of illegal content; no scraping or reselling data.

Free and Premium plans

The Free plan has usage limits (currently 5 AI messages per month and 1 vehicle). Premium unlocks unlimited AI, unlimited vehicles, and premium tools. Premium is billed monthly or yearly in USD and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your profile; you keep Premium features until the end of your billing period.

Refunds

We offer a 7-day free trial so you can try Premium risk-free. After the trial, we do not offer partial refunds for unused time, except where required by your local consumer-protection laws.

Your content

You keep ownership of the data you add (cars, logs, photos, messages). You grant us permission to store and process it solely to run the app for you. If you delete your account, we remove your data within 30 days.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Meaningful changes will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect.
