Car Companion (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a car-care companion designed for new drivers. This page is maintained by the app owner and explains, in plain English, what personal information the app collects and how it is used. It is not a legal certification.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address, and (optionally) your name and profile photo.
- Vehicle information — the make, model, year, mileage, nickname, and photo you add for each car.
- Maintenance & fuel data — dates, costs, mileage, and notes you log yourself.
- AI chat history — messages you send to the AI Assistant, so you can revisit past conversations.
- Uploaded photos — dashboard-light photos you scan and any receipts you upload.
- Location — only when you tap Parking Pin, and only with your explicit permission.
How we use your data
- To provide the features you asked for (reminders, chat, scans, logs).
- To keep your account signed in and your data synced across devices.
- To generate AI responses. Your AI messages are sent to a large-language-model provider for processing; we do not sell them and do not use them to train external models.
- To send account and safety-related emails (never marketing without opt-in).
Where your data lives
Your account and app data are stored on secure managed infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Photos are stored in private buckets that require your session to access.
Third-party services we rely on
- Authentication & database — for sign-in, storage, and syncing your data.
- AI provider — for generating AI Assistant answers and warning-light explanations.
- Weather & maps — Open-Meteo (weather) and OpenStreetMap (maps) for Parking Pin, using only the coordinates you save.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time from your profile. To request account deletion, email us at hello@your-car-helper.lovable.app and we will remove your data within 30 days.
Children
Car Companion is intended for licensed drivers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
